Anaaj ka Nashta

Breakfast are really important. We may often skip breakfasts but it is one of the most important meals you have. In my house, cornflakes are my friends. My brother and i just absolutely love something interesting and delicious to eat for breakfast. Kellogg's cornflakes and Chocos are favourites for breakfast among us in our house. We have a routine after getting up in the morning and getting ready to go to school which includes the favourite part of eating a bowl of delicious Kellogg's Chocos or cornflakes. That is one part that we actively like and running out of cornflakes means my brother pestering till he sees that a new packet has been bought.

Cornflakes and Chocos can be a delight for us. The crispiness of the cornflakes or chocos at the top goes really well with some from the bottom. The mingling textures and feeelings seem to enthrall you. The flavour of the cornflakes is spectacular and is great to eat for breakfast. Also with the fact that Kellogg's cornflakes i…

My bundle of hope

My brother is someone who will watch my back always. He can give so much joy and you cannot stay sad when he comes and reassures. He is pretty straightforward and has the guts to say something that he thinks about you to your face regardless of your age or your feelings. He somehow manages to be sweet and annoying. He can never tolerate anyone saying anything to me as long as it is not him. After all, only he should get the exclusive right to hit me and annoy or irritate me with a barrage of teases. If anyone scolds me or hits me, he is going look for that person, find the person and scold the person. He has a very specific set of skills which comes from years of experience and experimentation on me. Annoying is among the top of that list. He is someone that can lift me up when I am feeling bad. He is like my bundle of optimism, optimism to face the world.

So my brother came into this world on September 5th 2006, just a little more than four years after I was born. I was pretty jealo…

Refreshing Change

Change can be so refreshing. Of course not all change is good but when something changes for the good then it can be extremely refreshing and something that will be loved. Change happens every day and every second. Sometimes it is good and other times it is bad. Even we continuously change either for good or for bad. The change may be small but it can mean a lot.
Change can signify that we are moving forward or are happier. A change in me that may be considered minute or insignificant did mean a lot to mean. It defined how I faced bullying from that moment onwards. That change seemingly small has now become something very dear to me. The incident is a bit old. I was around 8 or 9 years old at that time. Before that year I mainly had my neighbours who were around my age as my friend. We used to play a lot of cricket during that time especially during the summers. Then my friend who was older than me introduced me to his group of friends to play with them
I was the smallest in that g…

A terrifying incident in the train

Hope is the strongest thing a man could ever possibly possess. Hope will keep you going when all else fails. I would like to quote Dr. Seuss’ statement “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” Optimism is so uplifting. You can fell all your worries and sorrows melt away in an instant. It can make you feel absolutely wonderful.
I was alone in a Hyderabad local train with my young brother with strangers all around. I was focusing on the horrifying fact that my grandmother was still on the platform of Fatehnagar station and my brother and I were in a train with unknown people. How did I reach here? For that I would go back to when we left with my grandmother to Hyderabad to spend some time with her and with my parents staying in Bangalore. Yes, I’ll agree it was fun and everything but then nothing is quite like your own home. After one week I was missing Bangalore so we were to board a train back to Bangalore from Kacheguda railway station.
My brother and I were both v…

My supportive mother

Now that I think about it, I have had some really great times and some very beautiful, fresh memories of enjoying with my family. Behind every happy man/woman (or a boy/girl), there is a family. All those magical moments with my family has shaped me.

I distinctly remember when I was in fourth standard. Then I had a been in ‘B’ section for four years. This year like the years before, I signed up for the Olympiads for three subjects- IMO (International Math Olympiad), NSO (National Science Olympiad) and NCO (National Cyber Olympiad). In the last few years, I was steadily improving at Olympiads. To us students at the time, the main incentive was missing the PT class to write the Olympiad.

Also a high school rank and prizes were not bad either. So my mother who had been helping me study for the last few years again started, this time looking to go a step further with me. I had already won some prizes entirely because of mom’s effort to teach me. In those days, there was more attention on…

Upgrade to a better car with Quikr NXT

If I had to upgrade my current car, the topic brings to mind so many lovely cars that I have been reading about and seeing on the roads. Well, the normal route of replacing one’s car is by buying a new one. But, I am not sure. I don’t think I want to go for a car loan just now given the precarious situation of finances at home. Hence, a second-hand car seems like a feasible option.
A city like Bangalore has a sizable population of techies and other professionals who relocate pretty often. One of my neighbors has been moving every couple of years. And, once they sold there brand new car for a bargain as they were in a rush to move. Hence, I believe that second-hand cars hold a lot of promise in terms of landing a great bargain. Most often, it is difficult to really know about a bargain before it is gone.
And that is when while looking for a computer table, I came across Quikr. Surprise, surprise Quikr also has used cars listed now. I browsed just out of interest and was hooked.
What I li…

Worry free life

Life is a mixed bag isn't it? All of us have something to do, something that they have to do, constant worries of some kind or the other. It would be really nice to have a life without any constraints weighing down upon us. A life free of worries. I guess we all must have daydreamed about this and about how nice that situation would be. If life did suddenly become like that then I am going to relax and do things that I always wanted to do. After all, relaxing is a part of life. All I know is that if life is ever going to flash that opportunity, I am not going to waste it. So this is on my to-do list or bucket list of things that I want to do if I have the chance to live without any worry financial or otherwise:
Travel: Yep, like many people I love to travel to new places with a lot of scenic destinations on my must-visit-once list. I love traveling and meeting people but most of all I love the beauty and the prospect of relaxing even though it is not for long. Yeah, I know I am a b…

The NXT big thing in classifieds

Our house is full of unwanted items in good shape but just getting neglected as there is no one at home using them. Of course we can give it to somebody but how will we know whether it will be used or not. That is where classifieds sites like Quikr come in. Now we can get some extra bucks while a customer walks with a good product and both of us win. This is pretty good as sites like Quikr offer a lot of customers for an item that has no use at home and therefore both the buyer and seller land some great deals. But classifieds have their limitations.
You do not know what kinds of people are browsing that site. In today’s world where a lot of shady people are there online, do you really want strangers to know your phone number? Or your email ID? We can’t trust everyone can we? Here’s where Quikr and its all new Quikr NXT comes in. My family and I have been using for quite a while now. We are happy so far by the services offered by which ensures easy selling and at…

Another year and another indiblogger meet. So far the meets have been sort of a mixed bag for me. My very first meet (incidentally at the same venue ITC Gardenia) was the Nokia app tasting when the lumia was launched and various apps were being shown by the two hosts of the night Vikas Khanna and Rajiv Makhni. They also engaged in a lot of fun events with all of us. This was one of the best meets I’ve attended so from then on, going to an indiblogger meet in Bangalore was a must.
Then came the HP meet about their line of printers, counterfeiting and authenticity. They also spoke in detail about the problems faced by companies with popular items being counterfeited. Other than that, the rest of the meet was pretty fun and was arguably the best meet I have attended. Then we stumbled upon three not so good meets which made us have a little bit of doubt(insert hmm here). So then came the happy hour and the meet. Well the meet needed invites which was never seen before me so this is getti…

ASUS Eeebook X205TA - The tablet that I always wanted

I have to tell you that I love my tablet. It is my father’s iPad. I like a lot of things about it. It has a 10 inch screen. It has great Apps. I play my favourite games Clash of Clans on it. I have read a lot of e-books on it. I like the resolution of the screen. But I don’t like a few things about it. It is too heavy to hold for long durations. This is something which hurts a lot when I read books on it for a long time. It doesn’t have the standard output ports like USB, HDMI and card reader.
I have seen Dad work on his Macbook Pro Retina. It is a powerful and light ultrabook. I have watched movies over it and have never felt like I must watch it on a big screen. I have read e-books on it too. Now, I feel that instead of my iPad I could do very well with a notebook which is light and powerful. Enter ASUS EeeBook X205TA. First thing I like about it is its weight! It is a notebook which weighs 980 grams only. With a notebook, I am also relieved of the need to carry it to do anything on …

A healthy child keeps home happy

Healthy kids are happy kids. This is from my personal experience of falling ill and how everyone in the house gets stressed out when I am unwell. Ever since I came to Bangalore, I have been experiencing allergies and illnesses many times a year. This was taking a toll on the happiness of everyone in the family. I would be sneezing all day, unable to study properly or play. I was also very irritable during such times.
Bangalore is a place where the weather usually stays on the cooler side and can drastically change over just a few hours. The mornings and nights can be really cold and in afternoon the temperature rises. This kind of weather did not suit me at all and took a heavy toll on my health.
There are specific seasons when allergies are on a rise. These seasons can be dubbed allergy seasons as the high amounts of pollen and dust are really irritating. I used to sneeze and cough nonstop in the school and at home. Illnesses were very common during these periods in our family. I used…
