Unit Tests and more

My first unit tests of the year recently got over. It was a huge relief. The unit tests went well with me scoring well in all subjects. But it was really hectic too. Anyway for a change, I enrolled in a program to mentor and teach 1st standard kids who have difficulty coping up. This has been refreshing as teaching these kids somehow helps me de-stress and also leaves me feeling good.
The child who I teach, let's call him M, was initially shy with me and barely talking at all. It took a few days for him to become familiar with me and he opened up more. Now he chats so much that I have trouble keeping him quiet. Well, I certainly have started becoming more patient as these children are so young and sweet that it is very hard staying mad at them for very long. 
Also I have had to turn to some examples such as friendship bands or pens to make him understand simple addition. Also on days when some of friends' allotted teachers are absent, then he asks me to teach them for a day. …
